What changed in this edition.
- Teaches the real instruments: Nexus Memory (Sessions, Decisions & Learnings, Risks, Corrections, Lineage), Nexus Search operators such as filetype:, search_vault, Reports and the Morning Brief, the ontology graph and Graph Editor.
- POPE is taught as the POPE-Tagging Standard v1.1 (Persons, Organizations, Places, Events). The v1 'tier' ladder was retired; standard stages now live in a status field and recorded decisions.
- The six-stage cycle is taught as your method, carried out with real tools, not as platform behavior, and capture runs through record_decision and record_learning.
- New lessons on the Correction & Supersession standard, the read limit on large index files, and session files created at session open.
- Discontinued service-engagement content was removed; the course is re-levelled to Foundation with AI role-play labs and a fresh exam bank.
What you will be able to do.
- You will be able to answer analytical questions about an organization's memory with reproducible queries in Nexus Memory, Nexus Search and search_vault.
- You will be able to measure memory growth and cognitive health, including retrieval precision, recall, MRR and nDCG on a labelled query set.
- You will be able to run Monitor, Search and Analyze as a routine and decide with the durability gate whether a pattern is ready for a briefing.
- You will be able to brief patterns so the Operations Controller decides in the room, and record those decisions.
- You will be able to codify approved patterns as standards with testable requirements, path citations and correct POPE tags.
- You will be able to govern standards through adoption, drift, refresh, Correction & Supersession and retirement.
- You will be able to receive an Implementation Specialist handoff and report business outcomes to executives without vanity metrics.
Who it's for

Not covered here
- Platform maintenance, upgrades and capacity (Maintenance Specialist)
- Promotion authority over standards (Operations Controller: you propose, they decide)
- Audit authority (Security Controller) and access decisions (Access Controller)

- Ontology design with POPE tags
- Ontology refinement
- Reconfiguration triggers

Pattern analysis: Monitor, Search, Analyze
Run Monitor as a recurring routine, investigate candidates with five query families and drift patterns, apply the durability gate and scope rules, synthesize evidence and resist the analyst hazards.
- Module 4 pretest (diagnostic)
- Monitor: your surveillance routine
- Search: structured query patterns for candidates
- Search: query patterns for standards drift

Present and Codify: from pattern to standard
Brief to get a decision with the Operations Controller deciding in the room, handle challenge, author draft standards with full citation and correct POPE tagging, and run the promotion ladder as a recorded governance practice.
- Module 5 pretest (diagnostic)
- Present: the briefing format
- Present: the meeting, with the Operations Controller deciding
- Present: handling challenge from skeptical stakeholders

- Codify: citation completeness
- Codify: POPE tagging for standards and their evidence
- The promotion ladder as a governance practice
- Lab 3: Deliver the briefing and get a decision

Govern: adoption, drift, correction and retirement
Measure adoption against a baseline, write drift reports, refresh standards through the ladder, assess standard quality, apply the Correction & Supersession standard, and recommend downgrade or sunset.

Handoff reception
Receive an external Implementation Specialist's handoff under Standard §11.5: verify seven artifacts, hold a binary gate, record the decision, and run the first steady-state cycle (including the internal stacking path).

Executive reporting, coordination and capstone
Report business outcomes rather than vanity metrics, coordinate with the Maintenance Specialist and the Operations, Security and Access Controllers, and complete the capstone steady-state cycle.
- Module 8 pretest (diagnostic)
- The business-outcome report format
- The vanity-metric trap
- Coordinating with the Maintenance Specialist

Practice against someone who pushes back.
Labs run in your browser as AI role-plays. An AI plays the person on the other side of the scenario — with their own goals and objections — and your work is scored against the published rubric. There is nothing to install.

Frequently asked.
Do I need to install anything for the labs?
No. Labs and the capstone run in your browser on learn.brrain.io as AI role-plays: an AI plays the person on the other side of the scenario, and your work is scored against the rubric published with the course.
How is the exam delivered?
Online and timed: 47 items in 75 minutes, on a form assembled for you from the course's item bank. 2 of the items are performance tasks conducted by an AI examiner: you do the work rather than pick an answer. The pass mark is 70%.
What if I don't pass first time?
You have 2 attempts, with a 7-day wait after an unsuccessful attempt. Further exam attempts can be bought for $299 each.
How long is the credential valid?
2 years. You receive a verifiable digital badge with a public verification page at learn.brrain.io/verify, so anyone can confirm it is genuine.
I hold the v1 credential. Is it still valid?
Yes. Credentials earned on v1 remain valid and verifiable at learn.brrain.io/verify. When you renew, you sit the then-current version of the exam.
Can my company enroll a team?
Yes. Firms can buy a certification bundle for $2,999 per firm per year — see the pricing page — or contact us to arrange enrollment for a larger group.
