What changed in this edition.
- Adds a real bRRAIn layer: your personal context as a Nexus note, the morning ritual from Home's Morning brief, close notes routed to Notes, Plan and Memory, GTD capture with Nexus Mobile, and Ask over your own vault — all usable on the free Solo tier.
- New lesson on checking grounded answers: opening Ask's citations, catching stale or superseded sources and over-generalized claims before you forward them.
- Redaction rebuilt around two questions — would it harm anyone, and is this tool and model cleared for it — including how model choice in Ask interacts with your organization's policy.
- Labs are now AI role-plays in your browser with a colleague, manager or coach persona, plus a 60-minute capstone role-play scored against a published rubric with anchor exemplars.
- Re-sized to an honest 15 hours: constraints and format merged into one lesson, invented statistics removed, and every lesson now ends with a common-pitfalls section and a retrieval prompt.
- New exam: 45 selected-response items and 2 AI-conducted performance tasks on a form assembled for each candidate; credential valid for 2 years.
What you will be able to do.
- You will be able to sort any task by judgment and reversibility and choose how to work with AI on it, including which surface or modality fits.
- You will be able to write five-element prompts with checkable constraints and iterate a draft in three rounds without losing your intent.
- You will be able to identify irreversible, consequential and personal-judgment moments, keep them human, and resist sycophancy.
- You will be able to detect hallucination and drift, verify claims and grounded citations at the right depth, and keep sensitive data out of uncleared tools.
- You will be able to run SMART, STAR, GTD and PDCA with AI while keeping the judgments that are yours.
- You will be able to sustain a working memory — personal context, morning re-supply, close-of-day capture — in any tool or in bRRAIn Nexus.

Working with AI — the operator's mindset and your workspace
What being AI-augmented means, the four-quadrant model, the three plateaus, the AI-fluency vocabulary, an honest self-assessment, and a tour of bRRAIn Nexus as a workspace where AI answers from memory you capture.
- Module 1 pretest
- What 'AI-augmented' actually means
- The four-quadrant model: delegate, collaborate, verify, refuse
- The three plateaus most early AI users hit
- The AI-fluency vocabulary you'll keep using
- Chat toy vs. work tool — the operator's mindset shift
- Self-assessment: where are you on the Maturity Matrix today?
- Your AI workspace: bRRAIn Nexus, from the free Solo tier up
- Retrieval: Module 1 check
-
Prompt discipline
The five-element prompt; why role and context carry the most leverage; checkable constraints and a format chosen for what happens next; three-round iteration; showing an example; and diagnosing weak prompts by element — in any assistant and in Ask.
- Module 2 pretest
- The five-element prompt pattern
- Role — the most-skipped, highest-leverage element
- Context — what the AI doesn't have and you must supply
- Constraints and format — bounding the output and shaping it for what happens next
- The three-round iteration pattern — never start over
- Show, don't tell — one well-chosen example beats five rules
- Diagnosing weak prompts in the wild
- Lab 1: Rewrite three weak prompts with a skeptical colleague
- Retrieval: Module 2 check
-
Human in the loop — the irreversibility rule
What you never delegate, however good the AI gets: the irreversibility, consequence and personal-judgment rules; what a real human gate is; sycophancy; keeping your point of view in an AI-drafted document; and auditing a workflow step by step.
- Module 3 pretest
- The irreversibility rule — once it's sent, you sent it
- The consequence rule — high-stakes outputs need a human gate
- The personal-judgment rule — you can't outsource what you mean
- Sycophancy — when the AI tells you what you want to hear
- Holding the human point of view in an AI-drafted document
- Worked example: auditing your own workflow
- Lab 2: Audit a renewal-rescue workflow with a manager who wants to automate it all
- Retrieval: Module 3 check
-
Failure modes — hallucination, drift, redaction and verification
Hallucination and the three signals; scope drift and the reset move; the redaction rule with your organization's AI policy and model choice; verification depth matched to consequence; and checking grounded answers that cite your organization's own documents.
- Module 4 pretest
- Hallucination — what it is, why it happens, how it looks
- Three reliable hallucination signals
- Scope drift — the slow failure mode no one notices until the deliverable is wrong
- The reset move — re-seed the context, don't restart the chat
- The redaction rule — what never goes into an AI you haven't cleared
- Verifying citations, quotes and statistics before forwarding
- Worked example: checking a grounded answer against your organization's memory
- Lab 3: Catch the fabrications before the brief goes to leadership
- Retrieval: Module 4 check
-
Foundational standards — SMART, STAR, GTD and PDCA, executed with AI
Four proven professional standards re-taught as AI-augmented workflows: SMART goals stress-tested letter by letter, STAR stories you own, GTD capture and clarify with AI triage (including Nexus Mobile capture, Plan and Lists), and personal PDCA with AI as the Check partner.
- Module 5 pretest
- SMART goals — and the AI prompt that stress-tests each letter
- STAR storytelling — where the AI helps and where it can't
- GTD capture and clarify — the AI as your inbox triage partner
- Personal PDCA — a Plan-Do-Check-Act loop on one recurring deliverable
- Where each standard ends and you take over
- Pick one standard and run it for a week
- Lab 4: Turn a manager's vague goal into a SMART goal, stress-tested in three rounds
- Retrieval: Module 5 check
-
Working memory and the daily cadence
Choosing a modality by task shape; your personal context and where it lives (a document, or a Nexus note alongside Projects and Memory); the morning re-supply from Home's Morning brief; mid-day session discipline; the close-of-day note routed to Notes, Plan and the decision record; the week as one cadence; and the capstone.
- Module 6 pretest
- Chat vs. voice vs. agent vs. search — pick by task shape, not by trend
- Your personal context — the one document that does the most work
- The morning re-supply ritual
- Mid-day discipline — when to keep the chat, when to start fresh
- Close-of-day capture — making tomorrow a continuation
- Worked example: one week of AI-augmented work
- Lab 5: Build your working context and run one day on it
- Retrieval: Module 6 check
- Capstone: Fix client onboarding with AI — and show your manager how you did it
Practice against someone who pushes back.
Labs run in your browser as AI role-plays. An AI plays the person on the other side of the scenario — with their own goals and objections — and your work is scored against the published rubric. There is nothing to install.

Where this course sits.
Frequently asked.
Do I need to install anything for the labs?
No. Labs and the capstone run in your browser on learn.brrain.io as AI role-plays: an AI plays the person on the other side of the scenario, and your work is scored against the rubric published with the course.
How is the exam delivered?
Online and timed: 47 items in 75 minutes, on a form assembled for you from the course's item bank. 2 of the items are performance tasks conducted by an AI examiner: you do the work rather than pick an answer. The pass mark is 70%.
What if I don't pass first time?
You have 2 attempts, with a 7-day wait after an unsuccessful attempt. Further exam attempts can be bought for $199 each.
How long is the credential valid?
2 years. You receive a verifiable digital badge with a public verification page at learn.brrain.io/verify, so anyone can confirm it is genuine.
I hold the v1 credential. Is it still valid?
Yes. Credentials earned on v1 remain valid and verifiable at learn.brrain.io/verify. When you renew, you sit the then-current version of the exam.
Can my company enroll a team?
Yes. Firms can buy a certification bundle for $2,999 per firm per year — see the pricing page — or contact us to arrange enrollment for a larger group.
